I Signed My Mom Up For Swagbucks/My Points & She Made $338 Initially

I signed my mom up for the Swagbucks & My Points program, so she could make money with the deals section.

The Discover deals section of Swagbucks is one of my highest moneymakers.

I have made hundreds.

I wanted to see how much someone could make starting out.

A lot of offers can only be done once, so initially people will make more money.

I think a lot of people can start out making a couple hundred.

My mom is not into technology, so she had me do everything.

Let’s see how I did with my mom’s account in the first month.

Who does not need a couple hundred?

Most offers on Swagbucks have a pending period of 30-45 days, so the money is not immediate either.

Swagbucks’ Discover deals is on every big deal site.

I consistently make $100-200 a month from it.

I think you can make more than that initially though again.

Be careful not to do too many offers at once because Swagbucks/MyPoints has shut accounts down.

I have been doing Swagbucks/MyPoints for years and have done all the popular offers.

This is easy money.

My mom made $338.

I would caution you not to do too many deals at one time because Swagbucks has shut down accounts again though.

Here is how my mom made $338 initially.

What is Swagbucks Discover & My Points Deals?

First, in case you are not familiar with Swagbucks, you can read this review.

Basically, Swagbucks/MyPoints allows you to make extra money doing various activities like:

taking surveys
watching videos
playing games
searching the web

Most things on Swagbucks/MyPoints won’t make you hundreds a month.

You may make at most an extra $50 a month from doing surveys.

Extra money is extra money, so if you want some pocket change read this review to not waste your time with the wrong activities on Swagbucks.

The shopping portal and the Discover deals section are the highest moneymakers.

With any shopping portal, if you don’t shop online a lot, you won’t make as much.

If you shop online, Swagbucks/MyPoints is as competitive as Rakuten and the others.

Swagbucks and My Points are owned by the same company.

So, when I say Swagbucks, just assume I mean MyPoints too.

If the offer is the same on both sites, I prefer Swagbucks.

My Points does have a currency that takes getting used to, but it is easy after you get used to it.

Swagbucks usually has more offers though.

The deals section of both sites will give you hundreds again.

You can’t use the same offer on both sites though.

Recently, I got $200 for signing up for GoodRx through Swagbucks.

I just paid for a $10 membership.

That was the easiest $190 I have ever made.

Like I said earlier, I usually make $100-$200 a month, but at times you can make more.

I always tell people to start out with Swagbucks/MyPoints when they want to put extra money in their pocket.

Since you can usually only do offers once, initially you will make more money than I currently make.

My mom initially made $338 again.

Let’s see how my mom did it (or me using my mom’s account since she does not like technology).

What offers did I sign my mom up for?

1. Aspiration Bank through Swagbucks’ Revenue Universe $80 (expired)

Usually this offer is through the regular Swagbucks site.

Since the regular part of the site was only offering $5, I checked the Revenue Universe section.

It offered $80.

You can find Revenue Universe under the “Discover” section of Swagbucks and the “Deal” section of MyPoints.

I prefer Revenue Universe because they usually pay within a week whereas the regular Discover/Deals section of Swagbucks/MyPoints takes 30-45 days.

Aspiration bank has an additional offer for $150 for their Spend and Save account and $200 for their Plus account if you spend $1000 on your new debit card within 60 days.

This is from Aspiration bank and not Swagbucks.

I plan to stack these offers for my mom for a total of $230.

2. Varo $75 (Expired on Swagbucks, active on MyPoints for $75)

Swagbucks has a lot of offers for online banks.

Sometimes, with Swagbucks/MyPoints you don’t have to do a direct deposit.

The worst thing about regular bank bonuses is the direct deposit.

You would either have to switch your direct deposit or fake one.

This is ok, but it is easier when this is not a requirement.

The Varo offer just requires a $25 deposit (get your money back when you receive debit card).

It pays $75.

The offer was only $50 in the past.

3. Stash $75

Stash is an investment app.

For depositing $5, you get $75.

Doctor of Credit reported that some accounts are targeted for a $200 offer with SunBasket.

4. Chime $150 (Now $250 on Swagbucks & $290 on My Points)

This offer is a bank bonus that requires a $200 direct deposit.

The direct deposit is only $200 though.

Most people find this easy.

5. Public $33 (Now $40 on both Swagbucks/MyPoints)

Public is another investment app.

For depositing $5, you get $33 (now $40).

This is simple.

6. Venmo $75

This is for people who have a business.

If you have a business, you can get $75 for connecting your regular Venmo account.

Total My Mom Made

My mom made a total of $338.

It would have been $488 if we had not messed up the Chime bonus.

My mom is not working because of knee surgery, so I did not have any idea how I would do the direct deposit.

Tip: Do not sign up for anything on either Swagbucks/MyPoints unless you are sure you can meet the requirements.

I lucked out with GoodRx when I made $200.

It requires a prescription.

I do not fill prescriptions, but my mom does.

I have had enough offers where I thought I would figure it out as I go, but didn’t.

Still, my mom made $338 the first month.

Don’t do too many offers though at one time again.

Again, some people have been shut down by Swagbucks/MyPoints again.

Know Your Offer Will Usually Be Pending For 30-45 days

That was $338.

Not bad for a start.

Keep in mind that most offers on Swagbucks are pending for 30-45 days.

My mom did get the $80 from Swagbucks’ Revenue Universe Aspiration offer within a week though.

That is why I prefer the Revenue Universe section of Swagbucks/MyPoints.

They pay quicker.

Otherwise, most offers are pending for 30-45 days.

That means you won’t get paid for 30-45 days.

Swagbucks/MyPoints are the same company again

Swagbucks and MyPoints are the same company again.

MyPoints has a more complicated currency , but I use both.

Swagbucks will usually have more offers.

You cannot use the same offer from both sites.

Things To Be Aware of With Swagbucks/MyPoints

Most offers pend for 30-45 days unless Revenue Universe
If possible, since Revenue Universe is a quicker payout on both sites, use it
Take an initial screenshot in case you need to prove your purchase
Make sure your PayPal address has the same e-mail
Know that you can only do offers on Swagbucks or MyPoints, not both
