Missed the Audible Black Friday deal?
You have a second chance.
You can get Audible for $.99/month for 3 months until January 21, 2025.
This one does not include a $20 credit though.
Audible is usually $14.95 per month plus taxes.
So, this is a 90% savings.
This is not as good as the offer for 3 months free, but it is better than nothing.
You usually can get these discounted promotions even if you got several discounts throughout the year.
I was in the middle of a 50% off offer for 3 months in the second month when the Black Friday deal came up.
I canceled the 3 month 50% deal, and was able to sign up.
Again, I had several Audible deals throughout 2024 too.
Here is more info on the current deal.
What Is Audible?
Audible is Amazon’s audiobook subscription service.
It offers audiobooks, audio originals, and podcasts.
You can purchase audiobooks a la carte.
You can also use the monthly subscription plan.
Audible has 2 monthly membership subscription plans:
- Audible Plus for $7.95/month
- Audible Premium for $14.95
The premium subscription is best.
It is where you get a free audiobook every month for the $14.95 fee.
The $7.95 plan does not give you a free book.
There is also an annual plan.
Most books cost more than the $14.95, so this is good if you are book reader.
Why pay even that though?
I have had Audible for years.
I always use the Premium subscription that costs $14.95/month, though I rarely pay full price for it.
I will explain how I don’t even pay $14.95 later in this post.
Amazon Prime members do not get free Audible books or an Audible subscription.
Audible is known as the best audiobook platform.
Is Audible real reading?
Yes, you read with your ears.
I also read Kindle and paperback, but a lot of my reading is through Audible.
I will explain why Audible is so important if you are working on your finances later in the post.
The Offer
Again, get Audible for 3 months for $.99/month.
The offer ends January 21, 2025.
Again, I know they have offered 3 months free before.
That would seem better than $.99 a month.
I got one of those last year.
I get several discounted offers for Audible. this year
This is still a good. deal because it might be a while before they offer a free three months.
New members can always get a month free though.
Why I Think Audible Is Useful If You Want To Improve Your Finances
Financial literacy is an important part of improving your finances.
Knowledge is power, right?
Most people have very little financial literacy in the United States.
Financial literacy is not something people are born with.
It is like driving a car.
At some point, you had to learn how to drive.
It is not common sense as many people believe.
Financial literacy is not taught in high schools or colleges.
As a result, you even find high income earners without a lot of financial knowledge.
People live paycheck to paycheck on $200,000 yearly incomes..
They think debt is normal.
They have little investments.
It is ok if that is you now.
I was not very financial literate when I started my financial journey.
I got my hands on every personal finance book I could find for the first couple of years.
So, reading personal finance books is a very important part of your journey.
Even though I have been reading personal finance books for years, I still manage to read more.
With Audible, you can easily listen to a personal finance book in your car or while doing other things.
This helps me read around 3-4 books a month.
You can even do this on your commute to work.
Most people say they do not have any time to read books.
I find audiobooks solves this problem.
Why I Never Pay Full Price For Audible
Though I use Audible every day, I usually never pay the $14.95 fee per month again.
That is the fee for the monthly subscription service that gives you a free book every month.
The fee is cheaper than the newest book price again, but why pay full price if you don’t have to?
How do I never pay full price?
I usually get deals like this.
Sometimes, I even get 3 months free.
How does that work?
Basically, I would sign up for a plan like this for 3 months
Toward the end of the three month period, I would cancel.
After I cancel, usually they will offer me another deal like this.
It is not always immediately after I cancel though.
If you want a new book even after cancelling, every month Audible has one of more sales where you can get books $1-5.
I stock up on those sometimes, so I have more books than I can read.
Whenever you can get something discounted or free, do so.
Summary
Reading personal finance books is an important part of improving your finances.
I will write a post on the top books you should read later.
I read a lot of books through Audible,
Again, you can be doing other things like commuting to work as you listen.
I got the Black Friday deal.
It had a $20 credit too.
This is still a good deal though.
I like to always get one of these deals, so I basically almost get Audible free as I explained earlier.
Again, the sale ends January 21, 2025.
Honestly, at $.99/month, what do you have to lose?
