The Ibotta app gives you cash back for the groceries you would buy anyway.
It particularly works well for people who buy name brand products.
I don’t buy name brand groceries.
I buy generic natural food store brands like Whole Foods 365, but I still get about $20 every month from Ibotta.
I know that does not sound like a lot, but it is the average $240 a year that most people get from Ibotta.
Ibotta freebies are items that you get free after rebate.
These help me cash out faster with Ibotta.
Some people just like getting free stuff though.
Here is where you can find Ibotta freebies, and how they work.

Here is a post that explains how to make more money with Ibotta.
How Much Can You Make With Ibotta
The average user makes $240 a year again.
This comes out to an easy $20 a month ($240 a year).
I suspect people who shop for families, or buy mostly name brand products make more though.
I know this may seem small, but wouldn’t you take a $20 bill if you saw it on the ground.
This is money for groceries you would buy anyway again.
Don’t underestimate Ibotta money.
People do a lot of things with their Ibotta money.
I have heard of people saving their Ibotta money for a Christmas fund.
I saw a lady use her Ibotta yearly money to buy an Apple Watch.
Read how I combine Ibotta with other apps in the next section to make an easy $100.
I usually use this money to pay for my inexpensive Hilton and Marriott hotels when I am taking road trips.
Other Cashback/Receipt Scanning Apps
Sometimes, apps like Ibotta are called cashback apps.
Sometimes, they are called receipt scanning apps because they require that you take a picture of your receipts.
Regardless of what they are called, here are my favorite cash back/receipt scanning apps as well as how much they make me:
- Ibotta: $20/month
- Shopkick:$50/month
- Surveys $10-$40/month
- Fetch: $5 gift card every 6 weeks
- Receipt Pal: $5 gift card every 6 weeks
- Receipt Hog: $5 PayPal card every 6 weeks
Altogether, this adds up to an extra $100 or more a month with little time.
This is not as much as I make from bank bonuses or Swagbucks/MyPoints.
It is still an easy $100 extra a month though.
When I am taking road trips my Hilton and Marriott hotels usually cost $200 in places like Memphis.
I use this money to knock $100 off my hotel stays.
