Wonder if CVS CarePass is for you?

If you shop at CVS, you should read this.

If you don’t, you can still benefit.

What is CVS CarePass?

CarePass is CVS’s subscription program like Amazon Prime. It is meant to help you save on health care.

Pay $5, get $10 free every month

Each month, you pay $5 (deducted from your debit card). You then receive $10 in ExtraCare bucks.

If you pay the entire year instead of monthly, you can save.

The year subscription is $48.

That saves you $12 per year.

That comes out to $4 per month instead of $5.

Get $10 free the first month when $5 fee is waived

The first month, you don’t even have to pay $5.

It is free, and you get $10 in ExtraCare bucks.

This was my favorite part along with the $10 each month.

Other CVS CarePass benefits

Though the $10 in ExtraCare bucks each month is great by itself, you get even more.

You receive the following:

  • free 1-2 day shipping at CVS.com
  • free 1-2 delivery on prescriptions
  • 24/7 pharmacy helpline
  • 20% discount on CVS health brand products

If you shop at CVS.com, make sure to use a cashback site.

How I got $30 free and counting with CVS CarePass

I got the free $10 for the first month as advertised.

A couple days later, I was told I could complete a follow up survey and get an additional $10.

Then, I earned $20.

It got even better.

After I spent the second $10 from the survey, it was followed by another survey with a additional $10.

So without spending a dime, I got $30 in ExtraCare bucks.

Don’t know if this is an error on CVS’s part, or if everyone gets $10 surveys.

Plan to redeem my next $10 and see if they keep offering $10 in ExtraCare bucks for follow-up surveys.

My Personal Experience with CVS CarePass and Takeaway

Personally, because I have no health problems (except eye health), I am not a frequent CVS Shopper.

Most of my spending at CVS is on contact supplies and occasional cold medicine.

That means I am an infrequent CVS shopper.

Though the program clearly benefits CVS frequent shoppers, and people who spend $10 a month at CVS; even infrequent CVS shoppers like myself benefit.

As with anything, if you don’t shop at CVS, and it would not save you money; you should pass. Make sure you will use the $10 monthly ExtraCare bucks on something useful too.

Again, I think even infrequent shoppers can benefit from this though.

Also, keep in mind that CVS has great deals on certain items. For example, they often have buy one get one half off deals. So look out for their sales paper, and save even more.

Look for our CVS and Walgreens reviews later. There are ways to save at each chain.

Honestly, I think this is a very good program, and don’t see their competitors like Walgreens offering the same.

I will be using my $5 ExtraCare bucks from CarePass as long as I have items to buy a CVS. Since my contact solution tend the be the same price at Walmart, Target, Amazon, Walgreens, and CVS; I will buy them at CVS and get $5 off each month.

    1. Sure. I would love to. I think if you want to make money then you want the paid wordpress.org. I started on the free WordPress.com platform until I was ready to build a business. Again, if you want to make money, I would recommend WordPress.org though instead of the free WordPress.com. WordPress.org is free, but you need to pay for the hosting. IPage can be about $12/month or less. The first month is $6/month. I have a link if you are interested. I liked IPage because I can pay by the month instead of paying for the whole year. If it is just a hobby, you could use the free WordPress.com platform though. Like I said I used both platforms, but when I was ready to start a business, I went to the self-hosted WordPress.org.
